Knowledge is Power

I am extremely excited to be attending a two day workshop by Fran Reisner in August. When I first came across Fran Reisner's website I was in a total state of awe! Her work is simply amazing. I began surfing around through her site and began reading her publications and about her and she is an inspiring writer and photographer. So to be able to spend two days learning from her is going to be truely a great experience for me.
I am also taking a course through Betterphoto.com. I think continuing to learn and expand my knowledge in my photography is always a must. I want to always bring my best to my clients and to do that I must always strive to learn more, to refine and sharpen my skills. It is in this dedication to my craft that I always hope to be the best photographer that I can be.

It's been about two weeks since my last update. So here is what is going on at Kimberly Armstrong Photography

I had the great pleasure to photograph a wedding on July 15th. I am always in awe of the magic that surrounds a wedding, the beauty of the bride, and the strength of love from family and friends.

One of my favorite parts of my job is in creating the albums for my couples. Each page is custom designed, it gives me a chance to stretch my creative wings even further. I work closely with each couple to give them the album that they want, the design and layout that they feel represents them and their wedding the best. As my company branches out into new fields of photography I hope to create the same type of Albums for families and children. Pictures are our link to the past and connection to the future.

Portrait Parties

So almost a year ago I did a session for my sister in laws and some of their friends. It was homecoming and one of their friends was having a nice sit down dinner for a few couples before the dance. So before the dinner I came over and did portraits of all of the couples together, individual couples, all the girls, all the guys, etc. Unknown to me I was doing my first portrait party. Now after almost a year I am including this in my services that I offer with some GREAT benefits for the host!!

How A Portrait Party Works:
Invite over a minimum of 5 guests, pick a theme, a date, and time. Your guests come to your home where I'll be and we do portraits. Now here is the exciting thing -- NO SESSION FEES -- that's a $75 savings and as Host you can earn FREE prints from your own session. There is no pressure to any of your guests to purchase.

Host Benefits:
When at least 5 guests are in attendance you are eligible for the Host benefits. You'll earn a % from the total party sales in prints. You can earn more prints when one of your guests book their own private session or their own portrait party.

Guests can earn too:
Bring along a friend or family member and earn a free 8x 10

What's New & What's to come

I am in the process of getting another website - one that will focus on the portrait side of my business. Which leads me into the expansion of my business to include children, familys, seniors and possibly maternity portraits. I have currently done one maternity session, so those interested in doing a portrait session of this type give me a call or send me an email, I am currently waiving the session fee and doing discounted print prices. Be sure to check back often for what's new & what's coming! Remeber occasionally I'll have coupons and discounts here at the blog, so be sure to stop by!

Newborn Session - July 2nd

Had a great newborn session with a 2 week old baby girl this past weekend. She was such a sweet, easy going baby. I'm very excited to be expanding my business to include children and families. I started in photography with children, so it feels good to be going back to the "birth" of my passion in photography, kind of feels like going home.
