NEW CHANGES

I know I have not been by in a bit to update, but things have been moving so fast and it's been hard to keep everything updated through the new changes.

I am so excited at all the new and wonderful changes going on within my business. First change you'll probably have noticed is the name.

Previously Kimberly Armstrong Photography, we are now PixieDust Photography & More, complete with a new website (www.yourpixiedust.com).

I say we instead of I because my sister has come on board to be a creative designer for the product expansion part of my business. To me this is one of the greatest additions to the company. We will be offering hand-made, stamped products - from invitations, to save the date cards, announcements and favors, to hand-made jewelry to display your photographs!

I have expanded my photography out of specializing in just weddings to include high school seniors, maternity, families and children.

Be sure to stop by the website (www.yourpixiedust.com) to check out my newest images. We're currently working on product samples and will soon have product images on display at the website. We'll also be offering pre-made products for birthdays and holidays for purchase through the online site, so keep an eye out for those too!!

Come by and see us at the Dallas Bridal Show July 14.15 at Dallas Market Hall!!

I know I haven't posted in a while, but I've been extremely busy between sessions and life. I had my computer fry it's motherboard, that set me a couple days behind on things, and then I had someone steal my identity and steal money from me. DO NOT put checks in your mailbox. If you have to pay a bill or something with a check drop it in the box at the post office. You never know when someone might drive past your mailbox and decide to help themselves to your money!

On a happier note, I have had two recent sessions...an engagement and a bridal. I can show you the engagement session, but the bridal you'll have to wait and see after the wedding in May. I am very excited about the direcetion these images have all taken.

Enjoy!!

I had so much FUN with this couple and I am just so excited with how these turned out.

These are all some of my favorites, it is really hard to choose between any one of them. Each image has it's own unique personality to it.

Be sure to stop by my website (www.yourpixiedust.com) and see what new there as well as I work to get everything updated and changed up! I have a new online proofing site as well, I am very excited about it too, it will give my clients a better quality to view their images and it's always better for me to have access to something that will help present my image quality better. I can't control everyones computers and monitors, but I can provide the best viewing from my end as possible. So if you get a chance swing by there and check it out too, I've got some images in rotation on there as well.

Have a great weekend!!

Baby Love, My Baby Love

I had a fabulous time this weekend doing maternity portraits for my sister in law. Her little girl is due to meet the world in April. We went out to my friend Brad's studio - 360 Studio - I am really enjoying getting into studio lighting and portraits.

OPERATION: Love Reunited

I am so very excited to tell everyone about an organization that I have joined up with. Below is more information about them. If you know of anyone that could use the services of this organization or if you are a photographer that would like to volunteer your services, please contact them.
OPERATION: LOVE REUNITED
Thousands of U.S. Military Families
Hundreds of U.S. Volunteer Photographers
Two special sessions
One period in time…
Operation: Love ReUnited was founded in September of 2006. The organization offers professional photography sessions for deploying military families, fee-free by volunteer professional photographers. Two sessions are offered, consisting of one pre-deployment or already deployed, and one ReUnited session at the homecoming of the soldier. The photographer accompanies the family to the airport to welcome their loved one home!

The photographers send a 4x6 album from the first session overseas at no cost to the family. They may then offer any specials on other products to the family at their discretion. Visit www.oplove.org for more information and to find a participating photographer in your area. If one isn’t available, email Headquarters and they will try to help you find one.

The Insane season of SICK!!!

In the last couple of weeks my kids have been hit with the flu. 4 out of the 5 got it. Took my son to the doctor on monday and he now has strep throat, an ear infection, and pink eye. ACK!! Hopefully this weather will start to warm up as we're moving closer to spring and the amount of illness will begin to slow down.

On a Photography Note:
I attended my first meeting with the Dallas Professional Photographers Association last night. Have to say that I had a blast! Got the chance to meet and hear Kevin Jairaj speak about shooting weddings with flair! have to tell you that it really is an amazing thing to listen to someone you admire as a photographer speak, but to learn that you admire them as a person as well is just really cool.

I have several sessions coming up within the next month, so be sure to stop by and check out the images that will be coming out of those!

Happy Valentines Day!

Closing down 2006 and Rockin' in 2007

WOW! I can't believe it's been since Sept. 2006 since I last updated. Shame on me. It's been a busy couple of months. I had the honor of photographing two weddings in October -- Leah and Walter -- Diana and Aaron -- then in November I shot the weddings of Maria and Petrus -- Heather and John.

In the mix of all that added an engagment session with Mandy and Will.

On November 16th my son, daughter, niece and nephew all had their tonsils and adenoids removed.

I shot my final wedding of the year for Christen and Brett and then buckled down for Christmas. Had pretty healthy kids until we had bronchitus run through the house about a week before Christmas.

2007 - It's a new year
I was able to attend one day of Fran Reisner's January workshop, my kiddos got to model for her workshop and that was an honor to be able to see such beautiful images of my greatest loves created by someone I admire.

I then had the opportunity to model for a lighting class taught by
Don Barnes, that was a lot of fun and a great learning opportunity for me.

I had an engagement session earlier in the month too which resulted in one of them being published as the cover image for JCPenney's jLife Magazine -- it is their internal employee magazine.

I also had a booth this year at the Dallas Market Hall bridal show. That was a whirl-wind experience for me and I can't wait to do it again in July. I had the chance to meet three photographers that I admire a lot.
JB and DeEtte Sallee and Rego, that made the experience even more amazing!

I just finished up this last weekend another studio lighting class at
360 Studios with my good friend and awesome teacher Brad Barton and had the opportunity to expand my portfolio with the lovely Lani.

Stop by my
website and check out some of my latest work (it's been updated recently). So be sure to come on back and check out all the new and exciting things going on here at Kimberly Armstrong Photography.
